Regissören för Ashley's kommande skräckfilm 'The Apparition', pratade med Fearnet.com om hans senaste projekt;


On horror in general and The Apparition:
I love horror movies. I loved them as a kid. I love them now. Some work better than others. We have a haunted house movie coming out next year called The Apparition, which is really, really, really scary. I like haunted house movies. Paranormal Activity was a haunted house movie, which cost virtually nothing. Robert Zemeckis said to me years ago, “Horror movies are the only movies that can change your physical being. They can actually make your heart race and make you sweat.” A good love story can make you cry, but what a horror movie can do is really effect you; and I think that [Splice] can do that. You just can’t believe what you’re seeing. And it’s not like you’re on [Avatar's] Pandora – it’s a character-based movie. Though it has some Pandora elements.

On what makes The Apparition unique:
It’s a good idea. It has Poltergeist elements in it. It takes place in a kind of cul de sac in the valley. In an area where a lot of houses didn’t get built, so they’re kind of alone in this unformed neighborhood. There’s no kind of specter that came from the graveyard it’s built on, so it doesn’t have that. But it has that kind of vibe. And the kids are great – Sebastian Stan and Ashley Greene are terrific in the movie. And they commit to it – Ashley understands the notion of committing to an idea that’s not real. They commit to it, and they’re good, and it’s really scary. So that’s the key. It’s not a hugely expensive movie, but it takes the idea of movies like Paranormal Activity, which have worked recently, to a level on which the audience will be lulled into thinking, “Well, I know what this is.” And then it isn’t.

On what she thinks makes Rob attractive:
”People are drawn to him because there’s something really endearing and adorable about him. He would come to set and talk in code about some girl, and we would fight tooth and nail to get him to tell us who he was talking about. He would be like ”There’s this girl. She texted me. What should I say?” And the girls and I would give him advice on how to respond so he would look cool.”

On Kristen Stewart:
”She gets giddy and excited, and likes to have fun. She’s as much of a giggly little girl as the rest of us. A lot of people don’t see her like that because I don’t think she lets her guard down in front of people.”

On filming the Porsche scene with Kristen:
”Italy was really fun. The Porsche in particular — Kristen and I were just talking about how we were laughing and singing in the car. I’m sure everyone who was making the film was like, ‘What’s the deal?’ We were quoting Anchorman and singing ‘Afternoon Delight.’ Yeah, very weird!”

On tabloids going crazy over Rob and Kristen and their relationship:
”It’s ironic that they are thrown into the midst of this crazy whirlwind. There are a lot of outgoing people on the cast –and out of everyone, Rob and Kristen are the most introverted and private. They can be trapped in their rooms for a month and there will still be stories of them being together in London or something. I think that it’s really funny that out of everyone in the cast, they are definitely the ones who want the attention the least.”

On Taylor Lautner:
”If Taylor and I had to fight a real street fight, I’d probably win –because he’s such a gentleman!”

On Jackson Rathbone:
”He’s a great guy. He’s so extremely talented, both musically and on-screen. I had to learn how to throw a baseball for the first movie, and he was there trying to teach me. I had such a big crush on him, but I clearly sucked. So it was totally embarrassing.”

On hooking up with Kellan Lutz:
“I’ve definitely thought about it,” “He and I met through our agent five years ago, and we’ve been best friends ever since and filming together has made us even closer.”

“He’s one of my best friends,” “But if we were going to be romantic, we would have done it years ago! I like having him to talk to about other guys to get that male perspective. I really cherish our
relationship, so I wouldn’t want to mess that up by dating.”

”Kellan was like, ‘I guess I don’t have to wear my shirt when I’m walking my dog.’ And I’m like, ‘Kellan, most people wear shirts when they walk their dog.’ What’s really sad is that his shirt is off so much that I know what his abs look like. And I saw this Photoshopped picture of him, and I was like, ‘That’s not you! You’re wider than that! It’s not like I stalk you, you just never have your shirt on!’”

They are all big flirts!
”There are so many couples in the film, so we all embraced that. There was a lot of roughhousing. Kellan would flirt with Nikki, and Jackson and I would be dancing around. It was very innocent, but we were all flirting with each other.”

Dimension is taking the first steps to casting “Scream 4,” which is heading toward a July start date.

Lake Bell is in negotiations to join the franchise, and offers are out to “Twilight” actress Ashley Greene, “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin (“Twelve”) for key starring roles.

“Scream 4” reunites Wes Craven with Kevin Williamson, who kicked off a horror- movie revival with his “Scream” script in 1996. The story brings back original cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, though the new flick is seen as a passing of the baton to a new generation of slasher victims, with Williamson already under contract to write a fifth installment.

If deals are concluded, Greene would play Campbell’s cousin Jill, essentially the heroine of the movie, and Panettiere would play her best friend, a nerdy film geek. Culkin would play a potential love interest for Jill.

Bell is negotiating to play a police officer who knew Sidney (Campbell) from high school.

Casting is proceeding slowly because Craven and Dimension are not sending the script to agencies in order to protect its secrecy. With only character descriptions, actors are having a difficult time deciding whether certain roles are for them. Reps for the actors declined comment.

These cast members join Billy Burke as Charlie Swan.

Academy Award® winner Bill Condon will direct THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. The project is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt, and Stephenie Meyer producing. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN is slated to be released November 18, 2011.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

The family of vampires, to which the leading male character Edward Cullen belongs, is comprised of Facinelli as Carlisle, Greene as Alice, Lutz as Emmett, Rathbone as Jasper, Reaser as Esme, and Reed as Rosalie.

The third film in the franchise, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is due in theaters on June 30, 2010.

On whether she was ever attracted to Robert Pattinson: “When I met Rob, I didn’t think twice about him. He’s really attractive, but that chemistry wasn’t there. He also doesn’t understand girls. He gets a lot of attention from them, but he doesn’t quite understand it because before Twilight, he was just a guy from Harry Potter.”

On whether she and co-star Kellan Lutz have hooked up: “I’ve definitely thought about it. Warner Bros och New Line har nu satt de olika premiärdatumen för de kommnde thriller och skräckfilmerna för 2011. The Apparition, filmen som Ashley är med i, fick premiärdatumet den 9 september 2011. Men detta är då för USA, jag skulle tro att vi i sverige får vänta ännu längre... :/

Här är en intressant intervju med Ashley från The Young Hollywood Awards som var den 13:e maj. Hon pratar om hennes självförtroende och att hon inte hade mycket av det när hon växte upp.

 

"Believe it or not, the gorgeous Ashley Greene wasn’t always so fabulous or confident. In fact, the Twilight Saga: Eclipse starlet revealed that she had zero self-esteem growing up last night while picking up the Style Icon of the Year trophy at our Young Hollywood Awards l. Here’s how Ashley gained the confidence to make her feel like the star she really is!
“My mom put me in etiquette and modeling courses to get my self-esteem up,” the 23-year-old actress admitted after confessing her former unconfident self to HollywoodLife.com May 13. “That helped a little bit, and then I got into acting. When I found something I loved so much and thought I was good at…[I realized] I could use the bad things people said or did before in my acting career.”
She added, “I don’t know when the flip switched, but I said, ‘You know what? I’m going to do what makes me happy, and if everybody else doesn’t like, then I don’t know what to tell them.”

Det har börjat löpa omkring en massa rykten om att Ashley Greene och Kellan Lutz har krävt en lönehöjning av Summit på 1 miljon dollar, för att göra de två sista Breaking Dawn filmerna (att det blir två filmer är än så länge också bara ett rykte), eftersom dem anser att dem gör lika mycket publicitet som Rob, Kristen & Taylor.

Man kan ju tro på vad man vill, men ärligt talat tror jag inte att iaf Ashley skulle äventyra sin roll som Alice i filmen bara för att hon får för lite pengar för det...



"Summit Entertainment is primed to split the final Twilight Saga installment, Breaking Dawn, into two films: Author Stephenie Meyer has signed off; Bill Condon’s onboard to direct two; and Robert Pattinson is ready to roll, as are Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

So what’s the holdup on declaring Breaking Dawn a twofer?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it’s some of the so-called secondary and lesser-paid stars of the series, particularly Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, who have not agreed to Summit’s terms and are demanding more money for their pale-faced efforts.

A source told the trade that the offers the actors received for the proposed fifth film were “offensive” in comparison with how much dough the franchise has earned. Another insider says, meanwhile, that Summit might be willing to cut ties with at least one of them to “make a point.”

Now, fans have already been forced to accept a midsaga cast change: Bryce Dallas Howard replaces Rachelle Lefevre as the murderous Victoria in the upcoming Eclipse."

"It’s no surprise that salary negotiations would be the key stumbling block to splitting the fourth and final Twilight book,  Breaking Dawn, into two movies. (The actors’ contracts cover only four movies. This would make it five.) But who could have guessed it would be the supporting actors, not the stars, who would go to the mat for more money. As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, co-stars Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz are taking a hard-line approach to negotiations, while Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are close to signing their deals for both films. Director Bill Condon has already done so.

Greene and Lutz don’t have huge roles. Greene portrays Alice Cullen, the future-seeing sister of Edward Cullen and Bella’s closest friend in the Cullen clan. Lutz plays older brother Emmett Cullen and his part, so far, has been minor. Yet sources tell EW.com that the duo are asking for $4 million a piece for each of the final two films. Greene and Lutz had initially banded together with fellow co-stars Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone to form a united front, but sources say Reed backed down and is now close to finalizing her deal, which is said to be in the $750,000- $1 million range per film–the amount Summit initially offered the four cast members. (Rathbone’s status remains unclear, and his reps had not returned a call for comment at press time. Reed’s manager declined to comment.)

The studio declined to comment on the negotiations. But sources tell EW.com that Greene and Lutz believe that because the supporting actors do as much publicity as the lead actors, and have to log almost as many hours on set, they should be paid accordingly. One source involved in the negotiations says that Greene and Lutz just want to get $1 million or more.

Either way, what is peculiar is that Greene and Lutz are banding together at all. Greene’s Alice is a much more instrumental character than Lutz’s Emmett is. And considering that Summit has replaced actors before who played hardball (Rachelle LaFevre was dropped from the upcoming Eclipse in favor of Bryce Dallas Howard), it wouldn’t be a surprise if Summit chooses to replace either actor. It’s just fans will probably be much more outraged over Greene leaving than Lutz."
